How Do Red Light LED Masks Work? Wavelengths and Skin Response

LED light therapy uses different wavelengths of light. These wavelengths correspond to different colors and penetrate the skin at different depths, influencing cellular activity involved in repair and renewal.
What does red light do?
Red light travels deeper into the skin than blue light and is studied for its role in supporting collagen production. Collagen contributes to the skin's firmness and elasticity.
How is blue light different?
Blue light acts closer to the skin's surface and is used for its effects on acne-causing bacteria. This is a different purpose from red light skincare.
Why does the device matter?
Wavelength, light output, session duration and the treatment schedule affect how a device delivers light. A mask's visible color alone does not establish its effectiveness.
